Dermot Finn:
darker side of humanity

Art by Dermot Finn(Updated September 18, 2008) - Dermot Finn works through a range of mediums including painting and print making. Central to his artwork is drawing and the unusual properties of print and paint.

Themes of life, death, illness, neglect, murder (all of humanities follies) have captured the artist s imagination over the past six years. Most of his work of late has dealt with the darker sides of humanity.


Dermot Finn was born in 1975. After school he went to Ballyfermot Senior College. He then worked for a few years in various jobs while continuing his art practice. He decided to return to college and he was accepted in Ncad, (the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, Ireland) finishing in 2004. In Ncad Dermot specialised in both traditional print techniques such as etching etc and also in digital art forms. Dermot lives and works in Dublin and is a member of the Blackchurch Print Studio in Temple bar, Dublin.

After finishing college Dermot started to work teaching art part time. In 2007 he returned to Ncad to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
