Sidney Sheldon is a very popular author and his books are a great read during
the lazy days of summer. These stories do not require much commitment from
the reader beyond the time investment. Relax by the pool or on the beach and
remember these books are like a soap opera...you don't need to pay too much
attention to get the idea.
The Best Laid Plans is a much more recent story, published in 1997. This tale
of Leslie Stewart, a woman scorned and Oliver Russell, the target of her malice
is very much at home in the world we live today. Oliver leaves Leslie at the
altar only to marry within a few weeks...a marriage that greatly enhances his
political future. There is a dark side to Oliver and death follows
woman in his life throughout his career. But again everything may not be what
it appears.
The older story, Bloodline was published over twenty years ago but is a modern
tale for today's readers. A beautiful and wealthy young woman, Elizabeth Roffe,
decides to run the family business after the death of her father. Of course
nothing is as simple as it seems....soon she believes someone is trying to
kill her and destroy the large pharmaceutical company her grandparents founded.
Everyone is a suspect including her own husband!
