July 4th at the National Mall was one big all day celebration
If you didn't make it to the 1999 Folklife Festival you missed out on very good exhibits from South Africa, Romania and New Hampshire
For those who have never been to the Folklife Festival on the National Mall in Washington DC, here's what it's all about. It's a yearly cultural exhibition of two countries and one USA state. It starts prior to Independence Day and finishes up with a bang on the Fourth of July. Each Country and the selected State showcases the people, arts and crafts, foods, history, geography and all else which best exemplifies their culture.
This year Romania, South Africa and New Hampshire were featured at the Festival. If you decided to attend the Folklife Festival on July 4, you also got to see the Fourth of July Parade and other exhibits at the National Mall in Washington DC.
