"I was born and raised during the 60's in suburbia outside Baltimore, Maryland. I did time for 8 years in Catholic school, was turned loose in public school for 4, then I attended the Maryland Institute, College of Art, from which I was graduated in 1982.
Some artists who have influenced me have been (and still are) Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Jime Dine, Mark Rothko, Robert Motherwell and Joseph Cornell. I like the mixed media assemblages of Rauschneberg, Johns, Dine and Cornell. I like the surfaces, textures and shapes in the work of Motherwell and Rothko.
I'm also interested in poetry. Some of my work contains poems or verses that I've written. I like the combination of both objects and words in art. Hopefully, the viewer will be able to experience or understand some of the thought, fears or feelings I've put on the surface..."
